Date 12 - The Strategist (Part 2)

  • The Scene: Flying from Kansas, Missouri to Atlanta, Georgia, for our date.

  • The Attire: Boyfriend jeans, hot pink body tank with an exposed back, green hat, and white mule heels.

  • The Meeting: Reconnecting domestically, this time, on the hometown turf.

  • The Environment: He arrived, we connected and set out to explore all that a Saturday in Atlanta has to offer.

After connecting at carnival, we spoke and engaged consistently over the weeks leading up to his visit. We discovered Atlanta like tourists. I was excited that he had made the sacrifice to travel to Atlanta for our date. It was humbling and appreciated. We ate brunch serenaded by the DJ of the week spinning the latest hits, walked the historic Auburn Avenue, fed the homeless along the way with our leftovers, visited Dr. King’s historic home, and everything else in between. We ended our day with an old school drive-in, which has been on my to-do list for a long while. We padded the back of my SUV and lost ourselves to the big screen on this incredible late night. I enjoyed being with him. It was nice, easy, and fun … simple.

  • Note to Self: Serving others is a powerful reflection of God.

  • Shout Out to Men: Show who you are early; rebuke the poker face.

  • Question: Why do you so easily connect with some and not with others?
